Spring Break Adventures

This week has been filled with so much adventures that today we are relaxing and catching up on some down time. I wanted this spring break to be a memorable one for the girls since I will not have much of a summer with them. Soon they will be with their dad and I will be working long hours. So lets’ start with Monday. We set off at around 8am and headed to Raeford. This took about 3 hours to get out there and get settled in. We arrived at Paraclete XP SkyVenture and was greeted with smiles. This place is awesome to anyone who wants to know what it is like to skydive without having to jump from a perfectly good airplane. It was fun and not so easy to do. I recommend this to anyone. The drive is not too bad, and it’s worth it.

Check out the video, had to change the music so YouTube would publish it.

Tuesday we went to Wilmington to the battleship. This was the girls first time there and they had a great time. Here are a few shots from the day trip.

We headed to Kinston on Wednesday for a Kinston Indians game. Weather was nice but the Indians played horrible the first game. We ended up coming home and they won their second game of the double-header. All in all it was a good day as well. Check out some of the pics.

It has been a nonstop spring break, I think we might try to hit the beach tomorrow and maybe end the week with some miniature golf. Then the weekend is here. I have one more week of classes then my finals are on the 13. So hopefully I will be working after that and getting into the groove of working 12 hour shifts, meeting new people and finally settling into a new and rewarding career. As for my personal life… It’s getting better and I hope it continues to do so.

Take care and God Bless.. 🙂

A Change of Pace is On the Horizon…

I certainly do not want to jinx myself but I’m confident in saying that I now have a new career on the horizon. It is going to be a very demanding job, on my time and my patience. It is going to be hard on the girls to get used to my hours but I know that this will be so much better for us. I will finally be able to get back on track with my finances and give the girls and myself a more comfortable way of life.  I hope that this will be the life changing moment that will define who I am and who I am able to become. I love where my life is taking me and I have so many people to thank. My friends and family foremost, they have stuck by me in the worst circumstances and hopefully I will be able to repay them ten fold.  I still have to go through a polygraph, but I’m not worried I have nothing to hide. I have been asked pretty much everything and they know everything about me already.

Spring break is here and we are set to go to Raeford to do some indoor skydiving at Paraclete XP  SkyVenture. I can’t wait, the girls are going to love it. It’s the closest thing I can give them to the real thing. Skydiving is an addicting sport. It’s very expensive and you have to keep up with your jumps every year so your license won’t expire. We might go to a Kinston Indians  game and down to Wilmington to go through the USS NC. I don’t think the girls have ever been there before so it should be fun. This will be my time with them before they leave for the summer to their dads. After this break I’m sure my life will be chaotic at first but I will eventually ease into it and adjust to it. I have a great family and friend structure and they will be there for me always.

I’m excited about my future and the path that the Lord has me on. I hope that things continue to look up for me & my girls. Both of them are on their way to yet another year in Swansboro. Julia will be moving up to the 8th grade and turning 13 soon. As for Michelle, she will be out of elementary and into middle school and turning 11 in a couple of months. It’s so hard to keep track they are growing up so fast. Well it’s Easter weekend and we are planning a get together with friends on Sunday after church should be fun.

Until next time, take care and God Bless.. 🙂

Memorial Walk

My Terrorism class took a stroll through the Beruit/911/Vietnam Veterans Memorial today. I must admit for as long as I have lived in Onslow county I have not been to visit the new addition to the Beruit Memorial. This new addition is astonishing. It is a complete replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Glass. It was a beautiful day out and I really enjoyed it. Here are some of the photos I was able to grab while out an about. To all who have served, will serve and still serving a big Thank You.. God Bless.

Relay For Life Weekend

The Swansboro Young Marines was out in full force Friday afternoon for the 2011 Relay for Life in Jacksonville NC. They set up camp and made their presence known. I know my girls were excited about spending the night and enjoying all the festivities. Even though rain set in they still had a great time. Here are a few pics from the event.

A Little Bit Closer

I’m gradually gaining ground on my new job outlook. Things are moving along and hopefully I look  forward to working with some fantastic people. This past weekend was great one. I spent some time with a great friend that I have missed for some time, and the weather was perfect on Sunday, although I’m still trying to hold back a cold that seems to be lingering. Me and the girls went to New Bern on Sunday afternoon, had a picnic and walked the downtown area for a bit. It was a nice break from staying home and I hope that the weather is here to stay. The girls had their CPR training this evening on Camp Lejeune and it went well. I’m so proud of them. They have relay for life this weekend and will be spending the night out on the track as for me, I’m going to try to make it to the Stations of the Cross in Marys eyes at 7, I hope I’m able to make it. That one is always very emotional. Well it’s past my bed time, better get to sleep. Lol.. Until next time…. 🙂 Take care.. and God Bless.
