Bring on the Cold!!

Summer is almost over and even though I have had a great one, I’m looking forward to sitting on the beach in my pullover watching the waves roll in. This is the best time of the year in my opinion. All the tourists are gone and the beaches are bare. You can walk around and not have to worry about bumping into people every five seconds. This is the best time to sit and think about everything. This year is almost over as well, I’m not quite sure where it has gone to but, it has been a good summer visiting with family and friends. I have also been able to reconnect with myself. In all actuality I have never been alone (without significant other) before. I have been single now for about 5 months and love it. I have no commitments other than my kids and myself. I’m not sure if I’m ready to jump into any kind of relationship right now but I’m keeping my eyes and mind open and living each day as if it were my last. With relationships come a huge amount of dedication, truthfulness, time, and of course patience. The feelings of is he going to call, is he thinking about me, what is he doing, and does he feel the same way, is not on my mind anymore, at least not now. Not having these kinds of things in my head makes me feel……. free in some way.

I have come to enjoy my own company which I can honestly say I would never have thought that I would. I can concentrate on becoming someone for myself instead of someone for someone else. I feel the need to find me again. With that being said, I do enjoy the company of others as well but without the distractions to worry about. Maybe in time I will let go and start dating again. Maybe I can let myself love again….. As for right now, I’m okay with the way things are. My kids have my undivided attention and that matters the most. They started a new school year and already they are talking about boys they like… Uggghhh what to do with that one?? Anyway Bring on the cold, looking forward to the quietness of the beaches in the fall weather, sipping on some coffee and watching the sunrise and sunsets.

“Most people can look back over the years and identify a time and place at which their lives changed significantly. Whether by accident or design, these are the moments when, because of a readiness within us and a collaboration with events occurring around us, we are forced to seriously reappraise ourselves and the conditions under which we live and to make certain choices that will affect the rest of our lives”.  Frederick F. Beach Walk

Me and the girls went out and walked on the beach this morning. We went out at 11 and came back at 3pm.. We ended up hitting all the shops on the left side of the road in Emerald Isle and plan to hit the right side tomorrow, weather permitting of course. It has been a good day. The weather was great, and the girls had fun.

Me and Michelle got Henna tattoos but Julia didn’t want to spend her money on that.

We have a youth group meeting for Julia tonight and then back home for some R&R..The girls start school next week so this is the last weekend of play time.  They are excited about going back to school and I’m excited as well. I can get back into running in the mornings again.

Quite Weekend.

Dress Up

The girls are home and the house feels crowded again. They both have grown about 2 inches over the summer and I can’t seem to catch up. Go figure. This weekend has been quite and relaxing. Hopefully the week to come will be the same. I have been working on my photogrpahy site recently. I’m trying to get my work out there for the public to see and purchase. Take a look, it is still under construction.

The Girls are Headed Home..

My girls are headed home today. I will be leaving for Raleigh this afternoon to pick them up from the airport and bring them home. This summer has been a long one. I was able to visit with family and friends and still get some me time in. I must say that this summer has been better than expected. Last year I was missing them within about two weeks of them leaving. This year I kept myself busy with family, friends, the beach, and so forth. Now it’s time to get both of them ready for the start of the new school season and myself for any new adventures yet to come… Well, got to get some things in order, clean out my car and get on the road.. More to come soon…

I have a new website up, take a look. It will be based on all of my work as a whole. No blogging just photos and info on purchasing them as well.

Myrtle Beach Excursion….

Me and a couple of friends headed to Myrtle Beach yesterday. We spent the whole day there and made it back home around 2am.. We had a great time and a future trip without kids is in store… It was a beautiful night filled with the smells of freshly made fudge and funnel cakes. We hit Barefoot landing first then made our adventurous route to Broadway at the Beach. All in all it was a great birthday weekend filled with lots of smiles. Hope it only gets better from here….. The Blarney Stone at Celebrity Square. Celebrity Square is full of clubs, bars, and restaurants to sooth even the smallest of appetites. Along with music and food came beer and even Jello Shots from plastic syringes… If you are looking for a taste of something new this is the place to go.. We left at around 11pm and there were still kids and adults of all ages roaming the Boardwalk.

Until Next Time…  🙂
