My New Friends!!!!!!   Yacht Club Residents  :-)

In nine days we will be done with January 2012. It is amazing as to how fast time flies. I’m constantly moving, working, taking care of my kids 24 hours a day 7 days a week. When I do have a chance to myself I try so hard to take advantage of it but most of the time all I want to do is just relax and do nothing. It has been a quiet start to the new year, nothing has changed. Work is still work, with some minor changes as always, but nothing too dramatic. The girls are always doing something, whether with school or friends. Julia has Orchestra concerts, along with Young Marines and soccer here in the next few weeks. Michelle is in the same boat except no Orchestra, she has Choir. So as you can tell no rest for the weary!   

Taxes are about to roll around again and I’m hoping to be 95% debt free once I’m finished filing. Now I have to start building my credit back up and hopefully by April or May, get out of this 2 bederoom duplex and into a bigger place for me and my girls. I think its time for us to make a permanent change around here. I’m not going anywhere anytime soon, so making this kind of change will be good for all of us. At least I will know that I have taken care of all my past debts and can start over from scratch. I have a great job, with great friends, and my  family is always behind me 100% with anything that I do, so I can’t complain.

On Saturday I took the girls to the Aquarium for a couple of hours. It’s always fun to go to, especially on a rainy day, with nothing to do. We always enjoy roaming around, looking at the sharks, stingrays, jelly fish, and of course the turtles..

Nimbus!!

I think the turtles are my favorite, well then the jellies come a close second of course.  It was quiet, hardly anybody was there, given the fact that it was 4:30 in the afternoon and about to close is probably why. The girls had fun as did I.

I think we walked around for a couple of hours and decided it was time to go. Michelle wasn’t feeling so good, so we headed back home for a nice quiet evening. All in all it was a good weekend. I head back to a fun filled work week, so my rest time is over. As of right now I am planning for my next weekend off, not sure whats in store but all I know is, is that I’m game for anything. This year is off to a great start compared to the last couple of years I have had.

It has been a rough couple of years and now I can sit back and know that my future is just beginning. With that being said, I still need to dig deeper into my artistic side on my days off. I miss the view from a camera lens. Hopefully sooner rather than later I can get what I “want” and get back out there, out into a world that I could hide myself in. A world filled with just me, my camera, and a little bit of imagination!  I look forward to that time when I can finally have something that takes me away from all the real things in life, even just for a quick tough of the shutter.

Went out this morning for a little run and it turned into a brisk 5 mile walk. The walk was really what I needed, and I took a few photos along the way which made it that more interesting. It is now 11 days into the New Year and I have been busier than ever. Soccer should be starting here in a few weeks and of course, busy, busy, busy. These moment are very hard to come by so I took advantage of my time while enjoying the fresh air. The sunrise was very brief with the clouds enclosing on the sun as it came up on the Crystal Coast. Even though it was short it was nice to see it come up before the rain set in. 

I passed this bird on the beach and decided to turn around and take a few shots, I’m glad I did. Days like this gets my artistic juices flowing, even if they are far and few between. Taking photographs and looking at the finished product is so relaxing and fulfilling.

Well maybe I can get out tomorrow before the weekend sets in. It’s going to be a long one I can feel it. So the rain has finally settled in and I’m on the couch.. Yes the COUCH!!!!! LOL.. . Anyway, have to get up and start cleaning, don’t want to get stuck with it tomorrow.

Thanks for my followers. Hoping for another epiphany in 2012.

It is already December 2011 and this year is coming to an end. Yet, another year down and many more ahead. I can’t wrap my head around where this year has gone. I seem to be working so much that it has slipped by me way too fast. Christmas is upon us and I’m slowly getting into the spirit, but not as fast as usual. My kids are doing good in school, and they want everything under the sun for Christmas. We put up the tree last weekend and it looks nice. This year has been very good on me and my kids. I have a great job that yes keeps me very busy but grants me the opportunity to do more for my girls. My finances are finally getting better and hopefully in the next couple of months I can get out of this little apartment and get into a bigger place. I’m so thankful for all of my friends and family, all my new and old acquaintances. Life is what you make it, good or bad, but it is yours to do what you may.  Life is not perfect and neither are we, we can only hope to live, love, laugh and be the best person we can be. So my new years resolution will be to live my life each and every day like it were my last. Take chances, because without chances you’re not living. I hope to love with all of my heart and laugh till I cry. So there it is, what do you think?

Merry Christmas and God Bless!!!!!

Well Thanksgiving is over and it’s time for Christmas. Thanksgiving was spent with my brother and his family. My two nieces are so cute. Alexis was bouncing off the walls and running around playing with the girls. Oliva was so good and she just sat in her swing watching everyone do their thing. It was a nice, non-hectic day. The girls ended up staying the night while I went off to work for the remainder of the night and into the morning. It was a quiet night, which was good for me. The guys on the other hand had a much interesting night than myself. I’m not complaining the less drama the better I say. Christmas is around the corner and I’m going to put up my tree tomorrow. I’m really in the mood for some good cheer, so bring it on. We are staying here for Christmas this year and telling everyone to hit the roads and come to North Carolina for the Holidays. I’m planning on taking two days off from work which would give about a week off because of the way my schedule is set up. Should be a much need time away, and the girls really need me to be here for them. I think we may make a trip to New Bern and maybe Wilmington to see what kind of events are taking place during Christmas. I bet the streets are lit up and beautiful during this time of year. I might even see about taking a carriage ride for the Holidays with them, who knows.

The weather is holding up during the day, but dropping in the evenings. So it’s time to bring out the winter weather clothing. I think I might invest in a fire pit so I can sit outside and enjoy some fresh air and maybe some smores. This year has gone by so fast, especially now that I’m working. I can’t believe that I have been working now for 6 months. I’m so thankful for having this job and meeting all the great people along the way. I hope that I have the opportunity to move forward and achieve my goals. I’m hoping to get out on the road here in the next 6 months, or even go to BLET to get certified as a Deputy. It will be a challenge, but I thrive on challenges, especially when someone tells me I can’t do it. Anyway, I have to go back to work on Monday, so this weekend is about rest and relaxation.

Last night it was the Swansboro Flotilla, tonight will be Ericas BrewHaus for some good clean fun. Tomorrow will be church, football, and decorating the Christmas tree. So the weekend is planned and next week it’s work and more work. I guess I better get going, taking a quick nap then off to a birthday party.

It is 4:19 on a Sunday afternoon. My weekend off is over come tomorrow morning and it seemed to go by way to fast. I try to do as much as possible on my time off with my kids, even though they may have other plans. I have another long weekend ahead and I’m already not looking forward to it. I really like my job and I get a good amount of time off, it just doesn’t seem that way at times. My me time has dwindled because I squeeze every amount of time for my kids and of course other motherly duties. Being a single parent with two teenagers, I might as well say, is really unproductive most of the times. We had a good weekend, all in all. I went out Friday night to Church Street Inn & Pub  while the girls were at Young Marines. It was a quick breath of fresh air then back home to a busy house. Saturday was filled with window shopping, buying a new battery for my car, which was not planed at all, and food sampling at Sams Club which is always fun. Saturday night was the candle light walk in downtown Swansboro which is really nice, especially if you have someone to share it with. Scearce and Ketner played and as always brought a huge crowd that left wanting more, including myself.  The girls had fun and it was nice to hang out with them besides hanging out at the house all the time. So with that being said, I’m catching up on things I could not squeeze in, and getting my gear ready for work tomorrow. I hope that tomorrow will go by fast and without all the drama that it brings more often than not.
